Outward is Konica Minolta's Technical Certification Program. This worldwide tech program is targeted at field technicians and technical support staff of Konica Minolta, our subsidiaries, and channel partners which include distributors, dealers, and authorized service providers.
The Konica Minolta Technical Certification Program curriculum provides technical managers with a structured process to enhance a technician or technical support member's industry knowledge and set a career path for their professional development.
The term "Outward" reflects our worldwide initiative to develop training materials that are "outside the box".
Our certification program is comprised of four certification levels that build on each other (Associate, Professional, Expert and Master). The Expert and Master layers are divided into specific technology tracks for Color, Production Print, Network, and Office Solutions. Each specific level of training is proudly displayed on the technicians’ business cards.

Certification in the "Designed for Windows" program means that Customers can be confident that KMBS print drivers and products have been tested, and successfully passed rigid compatibility requirements on the most popular Microsoft Operating Systems.
The Konica Minolta Outward Certified Associate is an entry certification level that establishes basic skill knowledge and is a prerequisite to attend product specific classroom training. This certification level is intended for Konica Minolta field technicians with 6-12 months of field experience.
Konica Minolta technicians certified at the associate level are proficient in installing, servicing, and troubleshooting the specific products in which they have achieved certification. In addition, they can identify and escalate issues to their management.
The Konica Minolta Outward Certified Professional is the recommended certification level for all field technicians and is targeted at technicians servicing all Konica Minolta multifunctional products.
Not only are these technicians certified at this level capable of installing, servicing, and troubleshooting the products in which they have achieved certification, they may also escalate unresolved issues through their management to the appropriate technical support agency.
Associate level certification must be achieved prior to attaining certification in the Professional level track. However, the courses within all tracks can be randomly completed.
The Konica Minolta Outward Certified Expert is the recommended certification level for all specialists in one of four customer related specific technology tracks:
Specialists certified to the expert level are trained to analyze and resolve most symptoms in their specific technology tracks. In addition, they can escalate unresolved issues through their management and appropriate technical support agency to Konica Minolta Business Technologies-CSO, Japan. Konica Minolta Certified Experts are also qualified to provide technical advice to field technicians certified as Associate or Professional.
Konica Minolta Outward Certified Master is the recommended certification level for high-level support specialists in the color technology track.
Specialists certified at the expert level are qualified to analyze and resolve system-wide symptoms and provide valid solutions for them. They will escalate unresolved issues to Konica Minolta Business Technologies-CSO, Japan, and manage those open issues until a resolution is identified. Outward Konica Minolta Certified Masters are also qualified to provide technical advice to field technicians and support representatives certified as Associate, Professional, or Expert.
